Hi Tech Gadgets Sales Guru: Picture and Video Instruction Guides: Service Your Customers Effectively
The popularity of
Hi tech gadgets
is sweeping across the world as a storm, and nearly everyone is coveting owning one or more of these amazing gadgets. The problem is not all potential buyers of these high-tech gadgets are technically savvy and have only little or virtually no knowledge about these devices apart from the fact that they want to own one.
This may cause some problems for you as a reseller of these gadgets, especially if you just give the text the user manual for your customers. What’s worse is that many retailers offer the same text instructions they received from suppliers, many of whom come from other countries like China and probably would be written in poor English.
The result customers would get frustrated and disappointed after reading this text guides. Many potential customers will have second thoughts about buying from you and will move on to other retailers with better service. And if they buy, and eventually learns that they could not make heads or tails of the text guides you specified you’ll end up with a lot of customer complaints posted on your site or product panels and thats bad for business.
But hope is not lost, which I can share with you some of the most effective ways to increase your sales and avoid complaints from customers through well-prepared instructions with the help of videos and pictures. The following will show you how.
The benefits of video and image-based Manuals
Give your customers the instructions in plain text would simply not cut it. What they need is a guide that even dummies would understand and you can do this by using images or video. Contrary to what people may believe, it’s really not that hard to make videos and graphics instruction guides. All you need is a camera and some creativity to get you on track.
Image-based teaching guides are more economical to make. Digital still cameras are cheaper than their video counterparts and it would take less time to do a picture-based instructions than to do a video. Aside from that, through innovative presentation software, you can actually make videos with just pictures and text.
But if you really want to wow your customers and create the greatest impact in producing video is the way to go. Not all pictures can be taken in image-based presentations and some customers would really want to go into the smallest detail and each step is absorbed in a video instruction , which they could not come solely from images.
Making Your video and photo-based Instruction
The first thing to consider when making manual is if you want a full video presentation, using images only, or use a combination of both. You dont have to buy high end camcorders or high-definition cameras for this purpose. Digital cameras larger than 3 megapixels would be enough as long as you provide ample light when you take pictures or videos.
Most digital cameras today can take both stills and video, so it would be better to have equipment like this. Better yet, use a good camera that you actually sell your site and make sure that viewers of the video or manual will know this fact.
You will also need a script before you even begin to take pictures or record video footages. Scripts, like in the movies, the backbone that the flow of how the user sets to be made. It leads you along the way so you only capture and include all relevant footages and photos for your guides. Scripts will guide you on what to say in a voice-over or dialogue, as the videos were made.
You do not need to buy expensive video editing or image processing software to complete the manual. Open source software is available online that you can download and use for your purposes. GIMP or GNU Image Manipulation Program and Photoscape are good open source and freely available image editor that you can use. For video editing programs, the Open Movie Editor a good open source video editing software for Linux-based systems, while the CineFX (or Jahshaka reinvented) would be a good choice for Windows-based systems.
Publish your video and image-based Manuals
When run image-based teaching guide, you should convert it first into a PDF format that allows customers to download or open from your website or product listing while preventing them from making any changes in the material. Just make sure you have complete contact information contained in the material.
The best way to publish video manual is to upload them first on a video sharing site like YouTube. Video files are big and eat up memory allocations for your website or product listing. If uploaded to YouTube, you can just copy the video link or html code and use those instead of your website.
The way you present instruction guides can be a good deal to play in enticing potential customers to view information about your high-tech products to know. Using pictures and videos for this purpose will get you to the manual far more effective than plain C and finally convince potential customers to buy.
